hey guys!
Wow This week has flown by I just dont even know where it has gone! od has shown up in the hearts of these Argentines. Even though it has been extremely hard meeting students who say "yes I know God" and then come from out of no where saying "but I also believe in reincarnation". God is still showing us his sovereignty six students these past 2 weeks have trusted in God and in the gospel of christ. Cant wait to see what he has in store for us next week. He is deffinitly teaching me about 1 Cor 3:7,8 and understanding that is his timing. If yall could be in prayer for these new believers along with this student I met the other day named Amelia. She is deffinitly searching for somthing in her life. hopefully she will fill that neede with the peace and love that God freely gives.
Ciao de Argentina,
Samuel

RE: first few days
Wow these past twoish days have been fast paced and amazing. God is deffinitly been teaching us how to trust in him more and that we need to rely on him for things that would be so simple in the states. for last night and today we had trainings and then we went to the different Universities. Yesterday I went to the medical part of the university, the universities are part of the university of buenos aires or UBA. UBA has 13 different caampuses. right now we are on 5 different campuses medical, economics, architecture, agromics, law, and... one more haha. Today after training we (my team of 7 out of the total 40) went to the architecture campus and that is the one we will be on mainly for the rest of the summer. It was a lot of fun once you go into the main bulding you see all these different people veding clothes. That because the architecture campus is also the design school. So, after the students make their clothes for class they can go upstairs and sell them. we kinda toured the school and then we had about 40 minutes left that we could actually go and talk to a few of the students. David and I went and talked to this one girl Ana, she is from Paraguay and has lived in Buenos Aires for about 10 years. It was exciting talking to her because when we did soularium ( a survey that get people talking about life and their beliefs through pictures) she started to answer questions that started to show she knew who God is and that she in the past has had a spiritual background. There is this one question that says "and pick a picture that describes your spiritual life now" she chose the one that had two people reaching for one another but going the opposite direction. so David asked her if she wanted to learn how to make her spiritual life more of a relationship. and she answered with a no. that kinda hit us both hard because she knows she needs God and Jesus but she just didnt want to learn more. after that she was kinda ready for us to go so we packed up. even though it was kinda of disheartening it was also encouraging because it was so simple to inter into a conversation with her. she was actually excited to start using her english with us. so hopefully other students will be like her. Its been a ton of fun getting immersed in the language and learning different customs. I know its gonaa be an awesome next 6 weeks thanks for all yalls prayers. Please keep Ana in them, hopefully we will see her again and she will want to hear more about what God has to offer for her.

RE: Almost Time
Three days, that is how long I have until I am on a flight from the United States to Argentina. This past week has been so much harder than I could have imagined. Besides the fact that I am a bit nervous for the flight, but earlier this week my little brother Joe went into the hospital. My family takes in hospice children, and we love it. Joe is one of these kids. He was born with some severe medical problems, and we took him in. We started taking care of Joe when he was 18 months, and the doctors said "he wouldn't live to be much older than two if that." Little did we and the doctors know that Joe would live to be 14. He has lived with us for the past 13 years. Even though he cant walk or talk he has become a part of our family. Earlier this week he had a stroke and has been in the hospital since. At first it didn't seem to be going well, but he is a fighter and is pulling through. I was thinking about it this week, and he has lived with our family for all but 6 years of my life.
God has been working on me this week. All through this week I was learning about relying on Him, with my anxieties of traveling, my worries that Joe wouldn't be better by the time I leave on Monday, and about how I need to trust in him to care for my family. Even though we, my family, always say that this stuff is just what we do, it really does take so much more of a toll on us. God has been faithful with a church family that prays, and prays hard. He has also been faithful with friends who care for us by cooking a meal or just by giving us a call when one of our kids is in the hospital. That is something that now I am so thankful for. This past week I had a much larger role in getting Donnie and Jasmine to all their stuff along with taking care of Benny, another one of our hospice kids, than I have had before. God has been faithful to us over and over again. I remember this quote that says " How many times will God need to bless us before we act." This trip is the fulfillment to God's blessings on our family. I am so excited to be able to participate in God's plans for Argentina this summer. Thanks to all of my supporters who have helped me reach this goal, and thanks to all of yall who have been praying for me.
If anyone wants to add somethings to their prayer list here is a few:
For God to give us safe travel to Miami and then to Argentina
For the Argentina Summer Project team to be relying upon God for all of our needs
That the students in Buenos Aires would be open to hearing the gospel
For Joe to get back home
That God would continue to teach us even before the trip
Thanks again yall cant wait to see everybody when I get back,
Sam
